GENERAL INFORMATION ON HUNTING SAFARIS
AND INFORMATION ABOUT NAMIBIA
11.01.2011. Due to the
financial crisis the last two years we had
less hunters but to us this is not really
a problem as our business is not only based
on hunting and we take in anyway only a limited
amount of hunters per year. Rain seasons have
been good and the game is doing very well.
We have not increased our rates for some years
but this year as the the euro is getting weaker
we had to make a little adaption. Furthermore
we introduced a little daily entrance and
conservation fee for management of the area
in terms of water, roads and other infra structure.
As mentioned below we offer many activities
for the family and introduced also some Hippo
this year which can see in our big dam or
lake.
Special offer: if you
book minimum a 5 day hunt I can offer you
two days free accommodation in Swakopmund
at the coast. For example you come with with
your family and they like to see something
else we can take you for a short trip through
the desert and Sossusvlei and than to the
coast. here you can do some really good excursions
into the namib dunes and /or a very popular
boattrip at Walfishbay to see seals, waterbirds
and dolphins.
kind regards

9.7.2008. Due
to the rabbies which we had here in the country
our kudu population has been hit very hard
so that big bulles are getting rare. We therefore
have put up the prices for kudu bulls to Euro
1200.00.
2.6.2008. 2007 was a very good hunting year although we had this terrible drought. Namibia is getting more and more popular as hunting and tourism destination. We noticed more and more people combine hunting with a tourism Safari. I do limited but very personalised guided tours to the highlights of Namibia. Apart from good hunting her we also offer as one of the leading guest farms in Namibia with several awards a good program for your wife, kids or partners like cheetah and leopard drive a game drive, horse riding, marked walking trails or a shopping tour to Windhoek. We had to up the prices for 2009 because of the oil price hikes and also the goverment has introduced the land tax in Namibia two years ago but so far my prices did not change. This year we had a very good rain season and the game look and produce very well.
kind regards and good hunting

22.9.2007: If there is no update one could think nothing is happening here. But it is not like that in fact we are very busy and its going very well. Not to update is a time problem for myself as I am practically alone here on the farm able to do this kind of computer work. Seeing so much time has passed since 2005 and I can only note here 2006 was very good and 2007 as well. As you might know we limit our hunters to only 20 per year which our maximum for the moment in relation to the avaiable game by this we are able to offer good quality and success. Prices for 2008 will stay the same as for 2007.
kind regards
Johann Vaatz
23.2.2005: Hunting went very well in 2004 and prices for 2005 are unchanged. Namibia is getting more and more known in the United States and is classified today as one of the top three destinations in Africa. Namibia is not so much the country for dangerous game (there is, but as I say not so much) but it is a very good destination for the normal man who likes a good hunt on different plains game like oryx ,kudu, zebra, impala, haartebeest, gnu, which is in comparison also not so expensive to hunt but also very exciting. The overall standard we offer is hard to beat from any of the African countries and it is regarded today as the safest country in Africa, also in relation to malaria, especailly the central parts of Namibia. Please look at our prices and we will be glad to make you an offer. I can also give you references but so far only from France, Switzerland and Denmark as I have not concentrated on other countries.
15.12.2003 : Prices for 2004. We took out the transfer from the daily rate. Transfer is now a separate price with the advantage there are no more limitations on the minimum hunting days.
23.6.2003: 2002 was a good season but not as good as 2001, but this year is picking up well. We have upgraded our website. A hunter had told me my website was far below what we really had to offer. So I hope with more and better information and more pics you will be able to get a better idea of our standard.
With the new technology and internet, bookings can be made easily and directly. In our contact sheet you just have to fill in your details and I can send you an offer if there are any special requests not covered in our upgraded homepage. I would also like to inform you that I only take a limited number of hunters per year as we want to keep a certain standard also in regard to the trophy quality. With my present circumstances and the quality I want to handle from A to Z I don't want to take more hunters otherwise the quality would drop. If I talk about the quality, I am not refering only to the hunt itself but also after the hunt, proper treatment of your trophies etc. So 15 to 20 hunters is the maximum I want to take. You are more than welcome to ask for references of hunters and taxidermists to assure you of what and how we do it.
30.11.2001: We had a very sucessful hunting season with a few gold medals ( Eland , Kudu, Blesbok ). Two hunters were exceptional lucky they have seen 11 cheetah in only 7 days. Two cheetah could be sucessfully stalked - 8 hours hard work for the guide and hunter!
